Introduction of steel ball
GCr15 steel has low alloy content and good performance. It is
currently the most widely used bearing steel. After quenching and
low temperature tempering, it will have higher hardness and uniform
good structural properties. This kind of steel has general cold
working plasticity, poor welding performance, high sensitivity to
the formation of white spots, and temper brittleness.
Metal balls are spherical rolling elements that can provide rotary
or linear motion for ball valves, check valves, bearings and other
mechanical equipment. They are usually made of alloy steel, carbon
steel or stainless steel. Its main features are composed of the
outer diameter, tolerance, surface roughness and tolerance of the
steel ball. The outer diameter (OD) is the total width or average
diameter of the ball.
The basic quality requirements of bearing steel are purity and
uniform organization. Purity means less impurity elements and
non-metallic impurities, and a uniform structure means that the
carbides in the steel should be fine and evenly distributed. There
are high requirements on the quality of smelting of bearing steel,
and the content and distribution of sulfur, phosphorus and
non-metallic inclusions must be strictly controlled, because the
content and distribution of non-metallic inclusions have a great
impact on the life of bearing steel. The higher the inclusion
content, the shorter the life span. In order to improve the quality
of melting, electric furnace melting and electroslag remelting have
recently been used, and new processes such as vacuum melting and
vacuum consumable refining can also be used to improve the quality
of bearing steel.
High-carbon chromium bearing steel refers to high-carbon alloy
steel with a chromium content of 1.30-1.65%. Its characteristics
are: the microstructure after heat treatment is relatively uniform
and stable, good wear resistance, high stress fatigue strength,
good dimensional stability and wear resistance.
This type of steel can meet the processing requirements under
general working conditions. The brand numbers of ordinary
high-carbon chromium bearing steel are GCr15 and GCr15SiMn. The
performance of these two types of bearings is basically the same.
But the hardenability of GCr15SiMn is better than GCr15, so
GCr15SiMn is used for relatively large bearing parts. Because
GCr15SiMn has high crack sensitivity and low impact resistance, it
cannot fully meet the requirements for thick-walled bearings and
mine bearings. Therefore, the railway department does not allow the
use of CGr15SiMn on passenger car bearings. It is also limited to
thick-wall rolling mills and mining machinery under large compact
loads.
The chromium ball is made of the highest quality chromium alloy
steel and is quenched for maximum strength and service life. Ideal
applications for chrome balls include rolling media, spray tank
mixing, ball bearings, wind turbine bearings and linear motion
components. The most widely used in various industries.
