The 1060 grade represents a commercially pure aluminum alloy, containing a minimum of 99.60% aluminum. Similarly, the 1070 alloy is also unalloyed aluminum, with a minimum purity of 99.70%.

The "H12" suffix denotes the material's temper, signifying it has undergone a work hardening process to achieve a semi-hard state.

Sheets and coils of 1060 and 1070 mirror aluminum are frequently specified as reflective surfaces in various lighting fixtures, such as recessed lights, track lighting, and both indoor and outdoor luminaires.
