Product description
The Z-shaped elevator is a continuous conveying equipment with a Z-shaped three-section layout. It drives the chain or belt to drive the hopper through a motor, completing the cycle operation of "horizontal feeding at the bottom - vertical lifting - horizontal unloading at the top" in a closed casing. It features small floor space, high efficiency, multi-point loading and unloading, and strong sealing performance. It is widely applicable to the automatic lifting and transfer of granular and powdered materials in industries such as grain, chemical engineering, and building materials.
Working principle
1.Power drive and traction system
- Power source: The motor drives the main shaft through the
reducer, which in turn drives the traction component (chain or
belt) to rotate in a cycle, providing power for the entire
conveying process.
- Traction component: The chain/belt surface fixes the hopper,
forming a closed-loop conveying path along with the circular motion
of the traction component.
2. Material picking and horizontal conveying (Bottom stage)
- Feeding port design: The horizontal section at the bottom of the
equipment is equipped with a feeding port. Materials
(granular/powdered) enter the casing through manual feeding or
front-end equipment (such as a belt conveyor).
- Hopper picking: When the hopper reaches the bottom, it inserts
into the material pile. Relying on the inertia of movement and the
inclination Angle of the hopper, it completes the loading of
materials. Then, it enters the horizontal conveying section with
the traction component and moves horizontally along the first
section of the Z-shaped path.
3. Vertical lifting stage
- Steering and lifting: At the end of the horizontal section, the
steering wheel/sprocket guides, and the traction component drives
the hopper to move vertically upward. The material inside the
hopper remains stable under the action of gravity and centrifugal
force, preventing it from sliding off.
- Power coordination: During the vertical lifting process, the
motor drive overcomes the gravity of the material to do work, and
the hopper rises uniformly along the inner wall of the closed
casing to the designated height.
4. Top horizontal unloading (end stage)
- Turning and unloading: The top of the vertical section is turned
to run horizontally in the second section through the turning
mechanism. When the hopper reaches the discharge port, the material
is discharged from the discharge port due to inertia and the
inclination Angle of the hopper and falls into the rear equipment
(such as storage bins, conveyors).
- Cyclic return: After unloading, the empty hopper continues to
return to the bottom along with the traction component, completing
the cyclic operation of "picking up - lifting - unloading".

The Z-type elevator integrates the horizontal conveying and
vertical lifting of materials into a continuous automated process
through "Z-type spatial layout + traction component circulation
drive". The key lies in the synchronous movement of the hopper and
the traction component, the path guidance of the turning mechanism,
and the constraint of the closed casing on the material movement
trajectory, thereby achieving efficient and low-loss compound
conveying.
