Lithium ion batteries with an inorganic separator offer improved
safety and enhanced reliability. an aluminium oxide Al2O3 or also called alumina layer in lithium ion-batteries is typically
deposited on top of the separator membrane to enhance its thermal
properties, enabling it to preserve its mechanical integrity at
temperatures up to 200 • C The performance of lithium-ion batteries
with coated alumina separator foils is the same at room temperature
as that of those with a polymer separator.
The coated α-Al2O3 separator does not react with LTO even after many charge/discharge
cycles. Fabrication of the electrode-supported α-Al2O3 separator is scalable and cost-effective, offering high potential
for practical application in industrial lithium ion battery
manufacturing.

【Product features】
The presence of the alumina can significantly improve the physical and chemical properties of battery separators. The alumina coating layer may reduce or prevent dendrite puncture, lithium plating and separator shrinkage during over-heating, hence significantly increasing safety performance for a lithium ion battery
The alumina ceramic coating provides a skeleton for the flexible
seperator, improves the wear resistance of the seperator, prevents
lithium dendrite from piercing, reduces heat shrinkage, improves
temperature resistance, and the pores are stable with temperature,
which can effectively improve the safety performance of the
battery.
1. Less magnetic foreign matters, stable electrical performance,
low content of harmful ions;
2. High heat resistance, stable at high temperature;
3. The particle size distribution is very narrow, which can be
coated with a very thin thermal insulation coating, with low
thermal resistance; no small particles blocking Li + ion channel,
no coarse particles scratching the film.
