1.0 Brief Introduction
Surface Drive and PC pump (Progressive Cavity Pump) represent an innovative artificial lift system that is increasingly being utilized in oil fields. The Surface Drive is responsible for suspending and rotating the rod string, transmitting power downhole to drive the PC pump. This integrated system is gaining prominence due to its effectiveness in oil field applications.
The PC pump comprises two main components: the rotor and the stator. The high-strength, chrome-plated rotor serves as the sole moving part within the PC pump. The stator is a tubular structure lined with elastic synthetic rubber, available in various elastomer options to suit different application requirements. As the rotor rotates within the stator, a sequence of sealed cavities is created, moving axially from the intake end to the displacement side. As one cavity dissipates at the displacement end, a new cavity forms at the intake end. Through this continuous cycle of cavity formation, movement, and disappearance, fluids are brought to the surface. Due to their distinct capabilities, Surface Drive and PC pump systems are widely employed in oil fields, particularly recommended for handling high viscosity, sandy, gassy, and water-bearing oil types.

Motor
A Y serial three-phase asynchronous motor is screwed tight on the motor skid and by changing the location of the motor, V-belt tightness can be adjusted effectively.
