The New High-Performance carbon fibre tubes are our range of 3K Woven Finish tubes which have a stunning high-gloss / Matte woven carbon fibre finish to complement their incredible strength. With the classic appearance of 2/2 twill carbon fibre coupled with 100% roll-wrapped prepreg carbon fibre construction, these remarkable tubes look as good as they perform.

This tube is ideally suited to a wide range of applications such as radio-controlled models (RC Planes), UAVs, Drones, Multicopters, recreational equipment, sporting goods, robotics, and photography/video equipment (tripods, etc.).

Different from Pultruded carbon fiber tubes, a roll-wrapped tube is lighter in weight, stiffer, and stronger. It is widely used for many projects in sports, RC, robots, etc. by hobbyists for surface protection. 3K Carbon fiber tube with high strength, stiffness, and excellent load-bearing performance.

This 3K Woven Finish tube is manufactured from alternating layers of unidirectional prepreg carbon fibre for maximum strength with the final layer swapped for 2/2 twill, 3K woven carbon fibre so that the tube has the classic appearance of woven carbon fibre. This means that although the tubes are designed for demanding mechanical applications, they also look fantastic, adding a cutting-edge carbon fibre appearance to any application.

WHY COMPOSITES?

The ‘specific strength’ of an object is defined as the strength of the material it is constructed from, divided by its weight. In this calculation, by substituting a composite for a metal the weight of the material reduces significantly. In turn, this means that the composites’ strength-to-weight ratio is vastly higher than metal alternatives. In environments labeled as ‘normal’ and ‘aggressive’, composites have been proven to offer a much higher level of resistance to this naturally occurring corrosion – increasing the lifespan of components. This improved level of resistance is what makes composite such an attractive material for marine and aerospace applications.

3. Increased resistance to repetitive strain

Over time – all materials are subject to strain and deformation. Where metals and materials like aluminum can end up becoming permanently stretched or distorted, Composites are able be designed to experience extensive deformation without taking a permanent set. This ability to deal with repetitive strain over prolonged periods of time has seen the materials extensively used in the manufacture of aerospace wings and other components.

4. Low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion)

When materials are subjected to heat, the fibers within them expand increasing the size of a component and potentially its effectiveness. The coefficient of thermal expansion refers to the rate at which the size of the material changes in relation to this temperature change. When working with composites, this CTE is significantly less than seen in metals, with carbon being the most effective material with a CTE close to zero. The replacement of materials like INVAR (an Iron / Nickel alloy) with composites is a good example of how our products have been deployed in the field of metrology.

strength and surface requirement.Shanghai Lijin offers top quality ROUND carbon fiber tubes. The general OD tolerance we achieve is +/-0.10mm and it can be even +/-0.05mm after our special surface process.

The maximum length of the tube can be 5500mm.

Besides the traditional table-rolled carbon fiber tubes, Shanghai Lijin also offers REAL Filament wound carbon fiber tubes,which are widely used for mechanical strength like auto driving shaft, antennas, even for military

applications. The filament wound carbon tubes are wound at a certain angle like 30 or 45 degree. We invested the new production line from Jun 2013 and this increases Shanghai Lijin’s advantage in the carbon

fiber tube industry. There are just a few real filament wound carbon fiber tube manufacturers in domestic

China and we are one of them.
 

Since the rapid growth of UAV in the international market, instead of the standard plane like Phantom from DJI, RC fans are getting more interested in the customized multicopters. As carbon fiber is the most preferred
