The end of Molex 20P female connector can be overmolded or not, according to your needs. If the end is overmolded, the cables are more sturdy and durable. If not overmolded, the price can be lower because the raw material and labour cost is saved.

As to this pin out, Pin 4 and Pin 5 of the OBD2 OBDII male plug are connected together with a short wire. There are 5 wires of 22AWG in the round cable.

The pin assignment or pin out can be customized according to your needs. If there is no need for more pins to be connected, we suggest we just connect the necessary pins you need and the price can be lower because the raw material and labor cost is lower.


Application

This cable is used to connect telematics, M2M devices, IoV (Internet of Vehicles) devices, fleet management devices, OBD2 GPS trackers, OBD2 CAN programming tools, ECU tuning tools or car performance tuning tools to vehicles' 16-Pin OBD2 female diagnostic ports. Some telematics or fleet management devices have Molex 20P male ports. To connect these kinds of devices to vehicles, Molex 20P female connector on this cable is needed.

It is important to check whether the telematics or IoV devices can be compatible with the vehicle’s voltage (12V or 24V) before connecting them to the original OBD2 female diagnostic ports with this cable. If the telematics or IoV devices’ voltage is 12V and the vehicle’s voltage is 24V, the devices could be damaged.
