Roll wrapped carbon fiber tubes is the process we use for composite tubes that are smaller and shorter in length. Rock West Composites utilize prepreg materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, kevlar, flax, and hybrids when roll-wrapping tubes. This manufacturing process is primarily used for producing small to medium diameter tubes of 0.250" through 12.0" diameter and lengths up to 8' long. Rolled tubes are ideal for applications that require the highest bending stiffness and lowest weight, such as telescoping poles, automation robotics, idler rollers, and UAV components.

These tubes are produced by wrapping pre-impregnated (pre-preg) carbon fibre under tension around a mandrel and then cured in a specialist oven. This produces a very consistent and high-quality finished tube for many different applications such as building or repairing UAVs, robotics, and RC products. Carbon Fiber Twill Roll Wrapped Tubing have an outermost layer of 2x2 twill fabric which gives the tube a few advantages including better machinability, reduced splintering and the decorative aesthetics associated with carbon fiber. All our roll wrapped tubes feature a slight rib texture spiraling along their length where shrink-tape has been used in the manufacturing process. If need be, this can easily be sanded and polished away.

Roll wrapped tubes are better for applications where the tube may be subject to a variety of forces including bend, twist and crush. These light 12mm tubes are suitable for demanding engineering applications including scale aircraft, gliders, helicopter U.A.V.’s, lightweight frames or structures, tubular vessels, poles, column supports or any construction that requires strength, rigidity and lightness yet appearance is also important. The carbon fiber tubes Shanghai Lijin mainly produce is table-rolled and oven thermoset. The tubes can be Full Carbon or Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass composite, depending on the application, weight limit,mechanical

strength and surface requirement.Shanghai Lijin offers top quality ROUND carbon fiber tubes. The general OD tolerance we achieve is +/-0.10mm and it can be even +/-0.05mm after our special surface process.

The maximum length of the tube can be 5500mm.

Besides the traditional table-rolled carbon fiber tubes, Shanghai Lijin also offers REAL Filament wound carbon fiber tubes,which are widely used for mechanical strength like auto driving shaft, antennas, even for military

applications. The filament wound carbon tubes are wound at a certain angle like 30 or 45 degree. We invested the new production line from Jun 2013 and this increases Shanghai Lijin’s advantage in the carbon
