High TDS 8040-Low Pressure RO Membrane for Industrial Brackish Water RO System


In the membrane separation process, the solvent (water) in the water permeates the membrane under pressure, and the solute (ion or solute and particulate matter of different molecular weight) is retained, so that the concentration of the solute at the membrane surface is gradually higher than that of the solute at the main body of the aqueous solution. Under the action of the concentration gradient, the solute diffuses from the membrane to the bulk solution, thereby forming a boundary layer, which increases the fluid resistance and local osmotic pressure, resulting in a decrease in membrane flux. When the solvent flows to the membrane surface, the speed of the solute flowing to the membrane surface and the concentration gradient balance the diffusion speed of the solute to the bulk solution, and a stable boundary layer corresponding to the concentration difference is formed on the membrane surface, which becomes the concentration polarization boundary layer, this phenomenon is called concentration polarization.
