Roll wrapped carbon fibre tubes offer superior strength in general use to ‘pultruded’ tubes (which have all their fibres running in exactly the same direction. This 1 inch carbon fiber tubing is fabricated with multiple layers of high strength unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg and has a 3K 2×2 twill fabric on the exterior.

The use of unidirectional fibres and maximum strength in the lateral axis does mean that the tube is not strong across its diameter as it is along its length so should be used in such a way as to avoid unnecessary crushing forces across the tube.

Due to their unique properties, carbon fiber tubes are used in numerous applications over traditional materials such as aluminum, steel and titanium.

Standard Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (SM)

This is the most common grade of carbon fiber used for our carbon fiber tubes. Standard modulus offers excellent strength and stiffness. It is 1.5X stiffer than aluminum and is the most economical grade.

Intermediate Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (IM)

This grade of tubing offers enhanced stiffness over standard modulus carbon fiber tubing with the same or better strength. Intermediate modulus is approximately two times stiffer than aluminum tubing.

High Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (HM)

At three times stiffer than aluminum (or equivalent to steel stiffness), this grade of tubing has very similar strength to standard modulus carbon fiber tubing. It is an excellent choice for demanding, weight sensitive applications.

Ultra-High Modulus Carbon Fiber Tubing (UHM)

Incredible stiffness at four-five times that of aluminum or 1.5 times that of steel. Ultra-high modulus has lower strength and is not recommended for high stress applications.

The maximum length of the tube can be 5500mm.

Besides the traditional table-rolled carbon fiber tubes, Shanghai Lijin also offers REAL Filament wound carbon fiber tubes,which are widely used for mechanical strength like auto driving shaft, antennas, even for military

applications. The filament wound carbon tubes are wound at a certain angle like 30 or 45 degree. We invested the new production line from Jun 2013 and this increases Shanghai Lijin’s advantage in the carbon

fiber tube industry. There are just a few real filament wound carbon fiber tube manufacturers in domestic
