Similarly, during the down stroke, the plunger compresses the crude oil between the oil inlet valve and the oil outlet valve. Close the oil inlet valve. Open the oil outlet valve, and the crude oil in the lower pump chamber enters the upper pump chamber. Once the plunger is up and down, the oil well pump completes a cycle. Repeat the cycle again and again.
