High precision low noise AISI 52100 chrome steel balls are a good example and
they are used in situations where reduced noise levels and tolerance are required.
Many steel balls for bearings such as AISI 52100 100 Cr6 have a hardness of between 60 - 66
and ultimate compressive strength of 2500 - 2600 although 100CrMn6
chrome steel balls are a good alternative when a higher core strength is required.

Our large chrome steel balls are designed to be more durable than conventional AISI 52100 based varieties.
Instead, we use 100CrMn6 to achieve a harder core, which ensures a longer lifetime and better performance.
These balls have a hardness rating of between 60 and 66 HRC, which
makes them resistant to wear, and
an ultimate compressive strength of 2500 - 2600 MPa, which allows
them to handle heavy loads.
At the same time, these chrome steel balls are also engineered to
function at temperatures of between -60 and
150 degrees centigrade, making them suitable for a variety of environmental
situations.
With these specifications, you will often find our precision steel balls in windmill mechanisms,
where large diameter components are essential. They help to supply clean electricity across the world,
and are also a feature of many industrial motors and mechanisms (eg for bicycle).
