Application

The common application is to connect telematics or fleet management devices to older 6 pin round diagnostic connector in medium and heavy duty vehicles model years from the early-to-mid-2000s.

This Deutsch 6 Pin J1708 Y Cable allows port relocation or connection of multiple devices. This Y cable is for older medium and heavy duty vehicles model years from the early-to-mid-2000s that have the J1708 6 pin diagnostic port adjacent to the clutch pedal or in some other inconvenient location. It is also for vehicles that require multiple devices be connected to the J1708 6 pin diagnostic port. This Y cable splits the J1708 diagnostic port, allowing one J1708 port at the original location and another J1939 port connected to an ELD or another device which has a J1939 port.

This cable will also allow J1939 diagnostic devices or scanners (with the appropriate software) to connect to commercial vehicles with the J708 6 Pin port.
