Introduction

Vacuum Degasser is a special equipment for gas extraction in drilling fluids. It is used to remove small entrained gas bubbles left in the mud by mud gas separator. This unit is positioned downstream from mud cleaner, shale shaker and mud gas separator, while hydrocyclones and centrifuges follow in the arrangement.

Mud vacuum degasser plays a major role of removing dissolved gases and gas bubbles. The gas like methane, H2S, and CO2 need to be released and broken from the mud to the surface in drilling fluids.
