Ultrasonic Test Bench

The VN Instruments SIA-7 employs a safe, non-destructive, non-contact, air-coupled ultrasonic technology for a wide variety of applications in process control and the high speed analysis of materials. The very high frequency, low power sound waves employed have no effect on even the most delicate product scanned. The system uses transducers similar in function to the sonar chips widely used in auto-focus cameras. The scanning gate employs a twin transducer array to create a collimated, low-power, high-frequency sound beam. This design yields a four channel data stream when collecting information in both reflection and transmission modes. The scan data is fed to a self-contained integrated control system consisting of a high speed digital signal processor coupled with synthesizing and digitizing modules. The system output may be fed to a standard display for evaluation of the data, or may be used to trigger process controls. Simplicity and Reliability
