DETAILS :

The LUMINAIR RE-LIGHT shades offer an environmentally friendly and unique addition to your pendant light fittings and table lamp bases. Designed to be used with low energy CFL bulbs they are kind to the environment, encouraging the use of low energy lighting and help to reduce the amounts of solid waste going to land fill.

MATERIAL

The LUMINAIR RE-LIGHT shades are made from 100% recycled plastic bottle sheets. The sheets usually contain shampoo, detergent and milk bottles that have been collected, sorted, flaked and thoroughly washed to remove any remaining contaminants. Looking like multi-coloured corn-flakes the pieces are then compressed in a large mould by a hydraulic press and formed into sheets by a process of heat and pressure which fuse together the plastic pieces. This retains the colours of the original bottles without the use of any binding agents or resins. They even still carry the smell of the fabric conditioner or shampoo that binds with the plastic in it's origional state!
We then cut the sheets to size and form into the shades. Even the lamp holder brackets are cut from the recycled sheet, using a low power milling machine powered from re-newable energy to further ensure their eco status.
