Regardless of their location, field units require 100% reliable and immediate communications, even in situations where setting up a communications infrastructure is not an option. Military and tactical operations require maximum mobility and flexibility in the absence of any communication installations, guaranteeing voice and data at all times to the relevant soldier or device in the field.
MaxTech offers an effective solution for military communications, supporting both WiMax (OFDM) and mobile mesh technologies. Using this solution, personnel on the ground, in the air and on vehicles can communicate with one another and with support units over mesh using their handheld devices. Vehicular radios can use the same technology to connect to the nearest WiMax antenna for external communications (e.g., to headquarters). Soldiers and vehicles in the field gain unhampered mobility as their voice and broadband data communications are unaffected by movement and high-speed travel. The solution also supports gateway to VHF/UHF, GSM, VSAT and other external networks, as required. The network determines best routing and optimal technology (mesh or WiMax) to use based on location, topography, network availability, etc.
