Since MMDS transmission system has such strong points as far transmission distance, high-quality image, low investment and short construction term, it has become an important means to take the place of optical fiber and cable trunk lines of cable TV stations in some regions, countries and cities in China and to make cable TV networking cover a wide range of rural areas. However, the working frequency range of MMDS is only between 2500 and 2700MHz AND its bandwidth is 200MHz, capable of transmitting 23-24 channel programs only. It is far enough to meet the actual need. Now digital compression technology is used in MMDS, which can expand the cannel capacity. Digitalization is imperative under the situation. Low-phase-noise digital MMDS down converter is one of key parts to ensure high-quality programs (currently, the phase noise of down converters in common use is about 85dBc/Hz. They can only be used to receive analog signals. Phase noise of converters that can receive digital signals must be lower than 90dBC/Hz).
