Cold work forged k110 tool steel DIN 2316 mold steel l6 tool material steel

    More Information

    1) Cold Working Tool Steel

Cold working tool steels are high carbon steels that contain alloy additions of tungsten, manganese, chromium and molybdenum, which increase the hardenability of the steels. The high carbon content produces adequate wear resistance for short run applications.

    General Application

Cold working tool steels are generally suitable for all types of blanking and forming dies, gauges and collets. Typical application are dies, trimming dies, coining dies, punches, shear blades, fuller, phillips head forming die, thermo-setting resin forming dies, cold forming dies, thread rolls, fine blanking, stripper plates, profiling rollers & press tools, brick moulds, chisels, pneumatic tools and etc.

    2) Hot Working Tool Steel

Hot working tool steels are used in the hot-forming of work-pieces made of iron and non-ferrous metals as well as alloy derivatives at high temperatures. They are utilised in processes such as pressure die casting, continuous casting, extrusion and drop forging as well as in tube and glass manufacturing.

    General Application

Die casting, forging, extrusion and pressing dies, shear blades, sleeves, plunger and etc.

Hot working tool steel can be used in the process of aluminium extrusion (mass production, high precision), steel and copper extrusion mandrels

    3) Plastic Mould Steel

Pre-hardened plastic mould steels are widely used for manufacturing mould for plastic because of their four main properties and characteristics:

    (1) Wear Resistance; (2) Corrosion Resistance; (3) Mirror Finishability; (4)Surface Workability.

These steels are quenched and tempered before being manufactured into mould for plastic, therefore the deformation and cracking of mould resulted from heat treatment can be avoided.

    General Application

    (1) Plastic Mould Industry; (2) Mould Frames; (3) Machine Tool Engineering; (4) Die Casting Industry; (4) Mould Parts; (5) Preform Dies.

High grade mould base for mirror surface & EDM requirement, rubber moulds, Injection moulds for bottle crates, TV sets housing fames, refrigerator doors, bucket and automobile related compartments, electrical and audio visual related compartments and etc.

Corrosion resistant plastic moulds for lens, medical instruments, cosmetic containers, food containers, and etc.

    4) High Speed Steel

High speed steel, or HSS, is a type of steel that is used in high speed applications, such as in things like drill bits and power saw blades. It is a replacement for carbon steel tools, specifically bits and blades, though both may still be used commonly. Its development has a number of advantages over carbon and thus is considered a more popular choice for such applications.

Several very important factors allow high speed steel to work. The first is the type of metals used. Together, they can provide a heat resistance that can keep the metal hard even under extreme temperatures. High temperature treatment further helps the steel remain hard under extremely high temperatures.

High speed steel is an alloy that combines several metals. Combinations often include tungsten, chromium, molybdenum, cobalt and others. Tungsten is the most common type of steel currently used in these products. However, there are many different types and designations of high speed steel, each having its own special combination. Some may use very little tungsten.-6.jpg
-7.jpgThe heat treatment that high speed steel undergoes is a product of modern advancements of technology. Usually, a laser or electron beam is used to treat the steel at high temperatures. While there have been some high speed products dating back to the 19th century, this new technology creates a particularly effective product by being able to reach much higher temperatures than via traditional means.

High speed steel is very important because heat has the ability to melt metals. This can even happen from friction created by drilling and sawing. Anyone who works with power tools can attest to how hot a drill bit can get after just a few seconds of use. Thus, to some extent, how fast a tool can cut or drill depends on how much heat it can withstand. The faster it can go, the quicker the job can get done.
