PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) products offer the broadest resistance
to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastic. They have no
known solvents below 392°F (200°C) and offer inertness to steam,
strong bases, fuels and acids. Minimal moisture absorption (see
Figure 21) and a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion,
combined with Quadrant's proprietary stress relieving processes,
make these PPS products ideally suited for precise tolerance
machined components. In addition, PPS products exhibit excellent
electrical characteristics and are inherently flame retardant.
Electronics: TV, high-voltage components on the computer, housing,
socket, terminal, motor start coil, leaf, brush bracket and rotor
insulation parts, contact switches, relays, iron, hair dryer, lamp,
heater, Grade F films.
Automotive: parts for the exhaust gas recirculation valve and pump
impeller, and carburetor, exhaust, exhaust valve, light reflector,
bearing, sensing components.
Machinery industry: used as bearings, pumps, valves, pistons,
precision gears, as well as copiers, cameras, computer parts,
catheters, sprayer, nozzle, instrumentation parts.
Chemical industry: for the production of acid in the pipeline
valves, fittings, valves, gaskets and impeller submersible pumps or
other corrosion-resistant components.
Engineering: the manufacture of automotive parts, anti-corrosion
coatings, electrical insulating materials.
Environmental protection: PPS fiber filter, used in metallurgy,
chemicals, building materials, thermal power, waste incinerators,
coal-fired boiler industry high temperature harsh working
conditions, a high quality and high temperature media.
